Iván García Cardenal is an architect and founder of Natureback. He studied Physics at McGill University and Architecture at ETSAM Madrid, combining a technical understanding of complex systems with a design-driven approach to the built environment.

Before founding Natureback in 2018, he developed his career across Spain and the Netherlands, leading architectural projects of different scales and complexities in both the public and private sectors. His professional experience includes major infrastructure, transportation, workplace, residential and mixed-use developments, working within multidisciplinary and international teams.

Alongside professional practice, Iván has also been involved in architectural education, serving as Professor of Architecture at Universidad Camilo José Cela and Director of the Interior Design Degree at UDIT University in Madrid.

This combination of practice, teaching and research continues to inform his work today, bringing together technical rigour, environmental responsibility and a thoughtful understanding of how people inhabit space.
